Pizza Hut and Garbage Trucks

So, today I'm going to share the awesomeness of Asian pizzas. Even though they have Pizza Hut here, it looks nothing like the pizza back home. Well, in a way, yes, but when you take a closer look- much more delicious! I would never eat at Pizza Hut back in the states. Here they have less grease, and much tastier options. Check it out:

List of pizzas to choose from. I'm sure you can choose your own toppings too, just like in the US, but why would you need to when they have such great options!

Here are some choices we think look good:
- Japanese Takoyaki (if you don't know, takoyaki is Japanese street food, tender little bread balls filled with octopus, green onions, minced ginger, and topped with tonkatsu sauce and dried bonito fish flakes)
- Seafood
- Surf and Turf
- French Style Seafood
- Korean Kim Chi BBQ
- Smoke House Chicken and Mushroom
- Veggie Delight

We have yet to try one of these, but I am sure it will happen sometime soon. Because it is an American chain, the prices are similar to in the US. However, they give you lots of toppings for money's worth. And. They also have kid-size pizzas. We need just two of those, you know us, we eat like kids!

The garbage truck

In Taipei, everyone recycles (yay!) and uses compost. Trash will cost you, although a pretty minuscule amount. The trash comes by everyday, multiple times. It drives down the street playing set music, and when people hear it, they run out from their houses and chase it down with mopeds and cars. Sometimes, I can hear it for thirty minutes as it makes its way through the neighborhood.

Rain again today, and we found out a typhoon is coming next week- just in time for class to start. Hooray. At the visa office in Hong Kong, we met a fellow round-eye who lives in Taipei. He is a DJ and invited us to his set tonight. If we get soaked on the way there, we get in free! However, I would like to stay dry. Right now, the rain has quit, but it makes no promises.
