In September, a typhoon hit Taiwan that knocked an awning down onto two postal boxes. Soon after, lines of people gathered to take pictures of the bent boxes and they quickly became one of the city's attractions. Not even a month later, stores began carrying goods resembling them- cupcakes, keychains, phone covers, and even planters. Taipei has decided to keep the mailboxes in memory of Taipei's ability to overcome tragedy and stay positive. I love these guys.
Beef Noodle Soup Time - Zhu Ji 朱記餡餅粥店
Recommended by Hungry Girl Taipei, an excellent resource for finding tasty things in the city and how we have found many of our favorite places.
Yummy side dishes, good beef noodle
After the shoot was done, we got in the van and headed to Beitou. Nearby, we found a Starbucks to change in, and do hair and makeup. No one stared or thought this was odd at all; they probably see it all the time. While in Beitou doing the shoot, however, we did have a great deal of spectators.

Taipei Royal Wedding
After lots of searching, we decided on Taipei Royal wedding to do our "engagement" or pre-wedding photos. Taiwan is famous for this, and that's kind of what started the whole getting married in Taiwan thing in the first place, aside from the fact that we are completely in love with Taiwan. The night before the shoot, we went to the studio to try on dresses and suits. I picked 4 different dresses that were altered in-house that very night!
On the day of the shoot, we arrived at the studio around 8am. Then, hair and makeup got done and we put on our first outfit.

The Beitou public library is an eco-friendly, green building with neat architecture. Every detail of the building was constructed with this idea in mind.
3. Yangmingshan Mountains
We ended up at the botanical gardens in the Yangmingshan Mountains, this time playing dress up at McDonald's.
4. Studio Shoot
By this point, we are exhausted. We didn't exactly sleep as well or as long as the studio had recommended, and we were pretty sure we may ruin the last shoot with droopy eyelids and bloodshot eyes. To our surprise, everything was fine. Success!
They even had someone run down the street to grab a boba for a milk tea shoot!
