Friday night, we ventured to the area of Fuzhou. There, we went to the Pan Chiao night market, and had the best bobba experience yet. We have been trying to find fresh peach and lychee boba the entire time we have been here but for whatever reason, no one seems to carry those flavors.WHAT!? This is ASIA! Home of lychees and the best peaches I've ever eaten. Today, problem solved:
Lychee boba, with chunks of lychee jelly instead of pearls. Fresh juice, no syrup. Yum!
Overlooking a pedestrian walkway near the Fuzhou MRT station
Night market street view
Fresh bagged fruit
Sign for takoyaki
Our fresh takoyaki about to be boxed
Squid stand next
Shaved ice toppings
Yummy raw things on sticks, waiting to be grilled and snarfed down
While walking to the night market from the station, we saw a huge line of people in front of a chicken steak (ji pai) place. It looked and smelled so good, we had to get one.
Fight fried chicken
Chicken breading- they use tapioca starch so the breading is chewy instead of nasty and crunchy like American chicken steaks. I've never had one, and I don't think I ever will. The fried food here is on a whole new level. Juicy, tender, lightly breaded, and not not over fried.
Adding seasoning, white pepper and red pepper. Mmmmmm!
Awesome logo
It is hard to see how big this thing is. It was HUGE. And only around $1.50 US
After eating all these tasty things, we went to Taipei Main Station to explore the underground mall. So many interesting and nicely decorated restaurants, clothing stores, gift shops, and silly ads.
Of course, the fried chicken is happy to be of service!
The amazing Scent Library!
So many interesting smells... that actually smelled like what they were supposed to!
Wall of more scents as well as products like perfume, lotion, oils, etc. All packed in little books.
Cool tea strainer we found at one of the amazing stationary stores/gift shops. They have such unique shopping here. So much variety and clever items!
